Announcements

Today, I finally have a good answer for you. At its Meeting last Monday, the Church Council voted unanimously to return to in-person worship beginning on Sunday, February 21, the First Sunday in Lent. Worship will begin at 10 AM, and will include all the same Covid-19 protocols that we employed last October and November when we last worshiped as a community, in-person.

This decision was made carefully, looking at actual case data from Montgomery and Bucks Counties; data which shows a significant decrease in new cases from the December and January spike – with even lower numbers locally here in the Indian Valley. With the confidence we built in the fall by implementing mitigating protocols to keep everyone safe, we all felt that it was time we offered in-person worship once again. We will continue to offer online worship for those who are not yet ready to worship in-person and indoors.

With that good news released, it’s a good time to remind everyone what the protocols will be for safe in-person, indoor worship.

  • Masks are required while in the building.
  •  Socially distanced seating will be implemented with a sign-up system used as we did in the Fall. Information about how to sign up will be posted on Monday, February 15 and on Monday in each subsequent week.
  • Windows will be open in the sanctuary to provide enhanced ventilation. Please dress accordingly. It will be cold.
  • Please, no gathering before or after the service.
  • Restrooms will be for single person use only.
  • No congregational singing. Please feel free to hum and pray the lyrics.
  • The Lord’s Supper will be distributed in “one kind”, that is bread alone. Pastor John and the Assisting Minister will bring the bread to those gathered and use tongs to place in cupped hands.
  • Much of the service will be spoken, rather than sung, supporting a fitting worship mood in Lent. One of the traditional themes emphasized during Lent is “Return to the Lord, Your God”. What a fitting time, then, for us to return to in-person worship as we begin the season, and the disciplines that come with a Holy Lent.

Let us all pray and be thankful that we can return to worship and hopefully never have to go to online-only again.
